Mary, Teensy has (as she said) done several swaps, already, beginning around a year ago. I don't see anything really wrong with her setup here, she just has a hard time wording things, and I know this from personal experience. She's one of my best friends in real life. The reason it comes off to you as inexperienced is because she's very shy, and wants to be as congenial as possible, leaving options open to everyone who joins, for fear of hurting anyone's feelings/alienating anyone. You don't have to join this swap. It seems like others are interested in it, so you shouldn't cut her down and tell her to shut down this swap. She's posted a few swap startups over time, and because of how shy she is, no one has even noticed them. The fact that people have commented on this one is very important to her. Please try to think of it as if she's fragile, because when you're aggressive with her, it hurts her feelings.
This kind of negativity and rudeness is why I quit coming over to this website, but she asked me to look this thread over, so I did. And if the rest of you aren't interested, I know of another place she can host her swap, and no one will be rude to her, or tell her she's not ready to host a swap.

Maybe, instead of grouping people by the amount of items they want to make, just let them decide with their partner. I hope your swap goes well! OMG you guys have some cool ideas! Abbyka, you could get a yard sale/thrift store red spaghetti strap dress, slit it up one side, and wear a black mini skirt/shorts underneath it. I've seen tons of dresses that look like that minus the slit, at thrift stores.

I'm making a ladybug costume for my 3 year old daughter. I'm going to a party 2 days before H-Day, and going as a forest spirit/goddess. I have a flowy brown skirt that has a wrap look to it, and is long in back and short in the front. I still haven't decided on a shirt/top...I have hunks of fabrics(wheat colored, teal) and 2 kinds of wide sheer ribbon(sage green & henna colored) that I'm going to incorporate. I'm going to make antlers out of tree branches, and put a mini wreath in my hair as a nest, with a little Cardinal sitting on it. Maybe a cool medallion necklace, not sure about shoes/tights yet. I want my husband to be The Green Man, so he can be my counterpart, but he hasn't decided yet. The party is a Fairy Tale Realm party.
I'm helping with the decor, and we're doing the outside magical and sweet, with white fairy/Christmas lights strung from tree to tree, and hanging jarred candles from tree limbs. She has a big swing hanging from a tree, and we're putting vines up the chains. Indoors is going to be like inside a witch's house. We got wall stickers of black birds in flight, tons of candle holders and cool earthenware vases, bowls and jars. We may hang dark fabrics over the walls, to cover the pictures. She wants to get a huge cauldron and set it on the table. We're going to dry flowers and grasses/greenery to look like herbs, and tie them in bunches and hang them around. OH, and we have some of that spider webbing stuff.

We had a blast, it was the most amazing concert I've ever been too!!! I ended up wearing a 3/4 sleeve Queen tee shirt(from Old Navy), dark jeans, and my black Chucks. We were in the high-rise, so there wasn't much moving around up there, but the show was incredible!!!

Jeanette, I LOVE your decorations! Especially the spider web, it's so pretty! My hubby is arachnophobic(to a childish degree), so if I had one, I'd have to take the spideys off. Maybe I'll make one...
I think it's so cute that you collect good witches! I collected black cats for a while, but when I split w/my ex husband, I left with little more than the shirts on me and Sofi's backs, so I may have to start over! I've always loved real black cats, they can be some of the sweetest(Tortoiseshells, too).

Well, I got nervous, for a bit, that maybe the mail had stolen her package, but she'd actually gone to visit family. She explained to me on Facebook, that she'd meant to take it with her, and send once she'd arrived, and accidentally left it. So, totally understandable. And as for number/quality of items, the requirements said (depending on size) 1-5 items, and she sent 3, all tricky amigurumi dolls, which made me feel bad that the ones I sent(another three way swap) to Essex Debs were just simple little felties. ^.^

Woohoo! I'm so all about this swap...And Laurel, hush, you aren't that old. Course your exact age is still a mystery to me, but I'm pretty sure you're younger than my Baby Boomer parents(dad's about to turn 67...ON HALLOWEEN). Either way, whatever, who cares? You are one of my favorite people in the whole world.
Speaking of...I was laughing over Jeanette's early decorating, and Melissa making fun of me for making Sofi's costume already, and thought, how fun would it be for all of us(I mean ALL) to have a slumber party/crafting party on a cruise ship? Imagine, it comes around and picks us all up from the nearest ports(so we don't all have to pay out the butt to go to a specific place), and we all get to get to know each other in real life, and goof off, and tease each other. I'm a little sad now, since that's never gonna happen...but it'd be cool!

3) What are your favorite things about Halloween?
The ghoulies and the ghosties and the long-leggedy beasties, and things that go bump in the night. Also, black cats, bats, funny/cute horror(as in not gross, nasty, puke inducing, or terrifying), zombies, cute witches, Dracula, The Wolfman, the weather!, Autumn leaves(Autumn is my fave season), it's my dad's birthday, and my birthday is the 12! I also LOVE vintage('20s-'30s) Halloween decorations, especially the black cats and jack-o-lanterns. So, um, yeah, Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday. I also love DÃa de los Muertos.
4) What do you dislike about Halloween?
Gross, gory stuff. I don't like writhing rubber things, like half-dead rats, body parts, etc.
5) Is there anything that you don’t want in your swap package?
no body parts, unless they're funny and felt or clay or something. No spiders, my husband is ridiculously arachnophobic. Nothing satanic, and no devils. I mean, I'm cool with Wiccans and all, just not realistic spells/magick stuff in my life.
