Well... I was 16 when I had my first kiss. I'm still with the guy today. It's been almost 4 years together. >.< Anyway... he and I had a couple of classes together in high school, so we'd been going out for maybe a week or two. I was a real prude because, well, I'd never even held hands with a boy until I met him! He and I were walking back to class from lunch and he stopped me just short of the door, he got really quiet and serious-looking. I asked him what he was doing, then he replied, "This," and he kissed me. It was just a small, closed-mouth kiss but it still made my heart race! I was wearing such an ugly outfit that day too. Baggy jeans, an oversized t-shirt and a torn sweater.

Rachie! I get PMDD too. Ugh, it's the worse and I feel the same way you do when the boyfriend gets the brunt of my craziness. When I have my bouts of PMDD I also cry at least once a day. I feel so ridiculous because I KNOW that I'm being stupid, yet I can't help it. Odd thing is, I didn't have this three years ago. *shrugs* I also get random cramps when I'm not on my period and also a feeling I can only describe as being an empty uterus. Weird, I know.
Is anyone using Yaz? I've wanted to try it, but my friends have scared me away from it.

Thanks so much guys! It's so funny that you mention GW, Rachel as my boyfriend is an avid Warhammer 40K player and probably has some of those paints lying around.
I'm going to try out some of your ideas and I'll let you know how it goes. Btw, I'm trying out a preliminary steampunk costume outfit. I have the basic pieces (except for my corset which is MIA) that I'm going to put together. I suppose I'll let you see that too. :)

Well, I'm trying to compile a few of steampunk costumes for a con I'm going to in the summer. The thing I'm wondering about is how to age or vintage-ize my props, specifically my gun. I'm going as an airship pirate. Here's my plastic flintlock gun.

I've had my share of heartbreak too. Ever since I was in elementary I was dorky and awkward and boys never really liked me. It didn't help that I was a lot taller than most of my friends (girls and boys) and I was/am rather fat. Boys thought it was fun to dare each other to pretend to ask me out, or to flirt with me to get something, like for me to do their homework. I really hated my first two years of high school. My "friends" had a habit of dating the guys I liked. I really did think I'd be alone forever. But then... I met my current boyfriend when I was 16 and.. he's perfect. He's my first everything. He's made all the pain I went through in my adolescence so very worth it. I really feel that there's someone for everyone, we just have to be patient. I had given up on finding a partner when my boyfriend came along. We've been together for 3 years and we hope to get married once we're done with school and have our ducks in a row. :)

Thanks for all the replies, guys! I guess I might use envelope when starting out since I'll probably just be selling my buttons on Etsy. I wouldn't want to charge 5 dollar shipping for buttons that only cost two dollars!

I went boating with my parents for about an hour on Saturday, then picked up my boyfriend to see Capitalism, A Love Story at the mall. We had fun. Also had dinner and dessert (Paciugo gelato!) with my parents. On Sunday I finally went to Sprinkles Cupcakes. They're very pretty and the frosting is VERY rich, but the actual cupcake wasn't so great. Not worth 3.25. That was my weekend! I loved it.

Best Sealant for Glittery Boots?

I'm planning a project where I spray paint thrifted cowboy boots with glittery paint and then paint over that with a sealant so that the glitter doesn't fall off so easy. What would be the best to use? I was going to use glossy spray sealant, but will that be too stiff? What about Modge Podge? Will that end up yellowing? I need something kind of flexible... Any ideas?

Facebook Connect Problem?

I created my account using Facebook connect, and it's not really a problem, I just don't think it's working correctly. When I log in, it'll take me to a page that says that I have an incorrect password or something, so while I'm on that page, I click on "sign up with Facebook connect". Then I'm taken to a white page that will have the Profile and Projects buttons along with "Hi, Pepper!, lists, favorites, etc." If I don't do this, it won't let me log in.
