I have an African pygmy hedgehog in a glass aquarium :) Sonic is a great pet (although you do have to clean him out allot)

well the Newbie vs vet swaps is where A vet someone who has been on the site a long time and has completed a wide range of swaps sponsors a Newbie, someone new to the site and swapping. The pair can then decide the theme of their swap, the time of send out, and any special requirements such as does the recipient have pierced ears or any metal allergies (useful info for if like me you make jewellery) the swaps are a great way to used to craft swaps. I'm a vet having used the sight continuously for nearly 2 and a half years and have hosted some fab swaps. You need to put if you can ship internationally too and where your from i.e country and state just so people know which vet you would be best suited to :)

I can think of some ultra cheap ideas :P Tardis centerpeices (Made from cardboard) Theres an episode with a bin that moves on its own, so you could get a wheelie bin I guess. serve celery like what one of the first dr who's used to wear, lots of quirky things like that :D

A good magazine can often be a wealth of wisdom magazines such as sew hip often come with instructions to making your own stuff and free paterns, cath kidstons sew is great for teaching you the basics such as embroidery stitches I hope these help and happy sewing !!

My 2 best cosplays where haru haru from hitman reborn, her costume is simple but very girly so for me it was perfect. Then I went as leela from futurama, which was trickier getting the eye to fit and whatnot, its always best starting small, and check out devian art to for ideas. Harry potter cosplays are brill :)

very odd, dont like em at all, I got an e-mail like that supposedly from a girl called mercy ! what rubbish it was creepy, I tried to view the message after an allert from my hotmail and it said the link expired, unable to acsess it so I think this person was blocked but very strange behaviour :/ unerving is the word.

since my last post Ive been commisioned 4 times ! Its took off better than I could have hoped and it was a picture of a bracelet I sent off on a swap that started getting me noticed. I wear alot of my jewellery round college and its getting my brand so to speak out there which is really weird. I dont intend for it to be much more than a hobby but atlast I seem to have lift off.

I got called an idiot a few months back on this board for saying I have a bit of a crafty creed. But to rephrase it, I feel that some handmade items its reasonable to pay for, others are not a fair price even for labour and for some theres nothing wrong with trying to make it yourself. I mean look on regretsy, it paints a picture of the type of stuff people often try to flog as vintage, steam punk, handmade.I don't have a beef with charging for qaulity work, or with etsy or other handmade selling places however etsy sellers sometimes do over charge for what you get. for example I have a group on facebook where I advertise Jewellery I sell locally. I charge probably as much as a shop like claires would charge, allthough im not making a living of my jewellery you could argue. I think I have a love hate relationship to etsy, Love the products, hate the designer price tag. And to reply to an earlier comment
A. Im a young person, niave to the world of buisness.
B. Im not an idiot for believing that you should try and make what I probably can't afford to buy, its the world war 2 morale in me, make do and mend and such.
C. Im not happy to sink money into designer handbags, or sink money into top designer clothing. I'm still silly enough to think that making things means more than buying a designer splurge sometimes. Thats what my crafters creeds about, not rejecting other handmade sellers but aiming to include crafting in my life to try be a little less materialistic.

Hamster nightmare !

Right so this may sound really daft but Its bothering me and theres pet owners on here who may be able to put my mind at ease.My beloved dwarf hamster died so I decided to get a new one after missing having a pet in the house. Im slightly allergic to them too but I love animals so much sneezing fits and runny eyes dont hold me back. Commitment ey ?
I bought a dwarf hamster and it was 9 weeks old, I noticed it was fast in the shop but they only had to one so I settled. I got it home and it was major leauge skittish, Ive tried handling it only to have it dive out my hands and its murder to catch. It also started squeeking ! It doesnt bite but its certainly not keen on being held. Im doing what all the advice says, leave it be and tame it with food and hold it in a covered space and blah blah blah. Im woried that If I cant handle it and it never calms down Ive failed and since Its my pet it reflects back on me as a bad pet owner, but my parents keep bringing up the allergies and how Im not handling it condfidently and I dont want a hamster I can only look at. Now it is still a baby but can any rodent keepers put my mind at ease because Im panicking.

To bring in the new year I have decided to host a new years swap.(I think I picked a bad time for the winter swap) Its a different kind of swap In the sense there will be a list of random topics posted below,(could be anything from zombies to kawaii) each pair will be partnered with a topic so every swap is completely different ! A new year needs a new kind of swap. Signups Will begin from 7th of november. You must have signed up by the December 29th. On the 30th I will post the partners and then the swap can begin into January 2012 (thats if the earths still going lol jk). awww, some people yet youtube sucsess go to their head, you sound like a truly devoted fan and its such a shame she has taken you off like that :( . I always find my loyalty lies in DIY site like this, thread banger and craftster. Im sure theres no logical reason behind it because all youve done was wished her well, sometimes people are just bonkers loonies who arent worth getting down about. Us crafters are resiliant creatures , dont let it get you down and im sure you'll find a better channel and teach her a real fan isnt someone you can ditch like that. I never got blocked from anyone but I wont name names I once put up a project on a craft website for cage cleaning, so many people said how it wasnt suited to rats (even though I did say it was for hamsters) I took it down to satisfy them. I think sometimes people get on their high horse and dont wanna climb down. I find with youtube way too many people blurt their silly opinions to people they think will listen, i commented saying i liked the song sung by the crows in dumbo and they said yeh you go ahead and support disneys racism, and I was truly hurt.
