I agree with the above. If people were normally this area-specific, I would never have gotten into swapping in the first place--there is nobody in Israel who swaps around here, and I'm not so fluent that I can find them in Hebrew-speaking craft boards!

I came up with the idea of a tea party swap this morning when I ran out of my favorite tea--which I could only find in MI, and that is apparently made in Canada.
I thought everyone could send each other a box of tea (something you want from that area but can't get, or something unique that you've never tried, or leave it as a surprise, etc.) and 3 or so small tea-related crafty items?
I also might just go ahead and do this with Johanna, since I know she knows the tea I ran out of... but I also thought it would be fun to do as a formal swap! :-D

I wanted to say before (but forgot because I was in a hurry all day yesterday) that if I lived in the USA, Jeanette and I would have basically sent the same things! We both sent the Hogwarts welcome letter, I wanted to send the beans but could't get ahold of any... I also wanted to send the spell book, potion jars, Hogwarts Express ticket, and maybe some house ornaments! I didn't because I either came up with other ideas, didn't have time to finish items (the spellbook), or could't find them in Israel. Too silly. I think it's amazing how close we came to sending identical packages. :-P

Okay, so we took about a million and a half photos of everything, but here are the photos that show the items the best. I love everything!! The items really put my swap to shame, lol. ;)
Also: I didn't notice 'till we looked at the photos that I was wearing lightning earrings; I promise it wasn't on purpose, lol. ;) Also, Oreo had tooonnns of fun with everything--I only let her play with the wrappings, but she really had evil intent for the ornaments, lol!! :-D
I think you can click on the photos to make them bigger; I just didn't want to kill the board with huge photos. ;)

Swap Guide / End Survey

So this is the first time I'm doing this... I will start with a swap that happened back in August or so.
Rockabilly Swap--Partner: Violetta--The rules were adhered to and she was a wonderful partner to have and communicate with; unfortunately, both our packages were lost in the mail. I blame the Israeli postal service. ;)
International Swap of Goodness--Partner: Gypsie Moon--She was another awesome partner to have; we kept in great contact, but again, I didn't receive because of the postal system.
Harry Potter Swap--Partner: Jeanette--Again, rules were adhered to. :) Jeanette kept in contact and was a great partner--and I actually got my package!!! Hooray! :) The items are SUUUUPER-cute, and I love it all. :)

Okeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyy, so I finally got my package and I LOVE it!!! I'd have posted earlier but Shlomi took me out today for 2.5 years. ;) The three of us (Shlomz, Oreo, and I) love everything, and I am thoroughly pleased to announce that absolutely everything came completely undamaged!!! I'll post photos when I can get Shlomz to take them off his fancy new camera for me. ;) (Trust me, I'll make him do it, like, now.)

Wow, wow, WOW! Guess what showed up in my box today??? That's right--it's the mailing slip from a certain Ms. W!
I can honestly say that I never expected it to get here... I am so excited!!! :-D
In a little while we are going to get a harness for the cat, and I think we should stop at the post office as well. ;) It's about time they get around to delivering something of mine!!! :-D

Gypsie Moon--my faith has somewhat been renewed in non-Israeli postal services... Jeanette got my Harry Potter swap (finally! I'll see my swap goodies in a thread again!!!!) and my brother (in China) says that he is chasing a package around Shanghai or wherever he's at right now.... hooray for mail... lol. Hopefully we all get them--you, my brother, and me. ;) Apparently it's a pain to get mail in China just like it is here. The joys....

Hm... NOW actually answering the original question!! :-P
I took a look at Swap-Bot, and it seems okay, but I have this thing about keeping myself as condensed on the internet as possible--I mean, already 5 pages come up when you Google my name, and I don't want to add to the mess of profiles and sites I'm registered to that I hardly ever use, blah blah.... Also, I'm not swapping for a while--again, due to the postal service--so I see no point in joining at this time. Additionally, I thankfully have never had a problem with flakers. Maybe I would be more excited about Swap-Bot if I'd had more bad experiences here! ;)
All in all, my answer is that I don't think that I am interested in pursuing the Swap-bot option at this time. Thank you, however, for bringing it up, as it is a viable option. :)

Hm... I definitely think the list needs to stay up--if you can't handle your name being on the list, then don't do something to deserve it!!
You could also make the list "Those who are unable to reliably swap at this time," or something, and then write "whyyy" after the name (incomplete swap, postal issues, illness, etc)... and I mean, you could totally even add ME to the list if it were called that, due to postal service issues. That way, people might not take it so personally. Or, a status on our profiles about whether or not we are reliable at that time for swapping.... idk. Call me out if it's a stupid idea, lol. ;)
Of course, I also see the issue with the upkeep of a list like this. Just something that came to mind right at this moment.

Hahaha! I usually do that on swaps, too... I haven't shared my photos with anyone yet, actually (which is unusual for me). I told Jo what you're getting, though. She and I have shared pretty much everything in the past, so us sharing swap secrets was to be expected. :-P
