natural deodorant, anybody?
Started over 1 year ago · Last post 8 months ago ·
Ok. Deodorant. So, I don't want aluminum in my body, that stuff's not good. I've used Toms, but no good. I think I'm allergic to the zinc ricinoleate or the hops (I hope not for beer's sake!) Whenever I use it, my armpits start to peel, which is DEFINITELY NOT a pleasant experience!
I'm not looking for an antiperspirant, just a deodorant. Does anybody use one they like? I would prefer a natural one, and one that isn't a stick (like toms), because they always seem pretty tacky through the day. I am a hormonal teen, so I need a pretty strong deodorant, too!
Thank you for any advice!

Hairy pits
Started over 1 year ago · Last post 8 months ago ·
So, I've got hairy pits. I also have hairy legs, which I am in no way insecure about. However, the pits.... I am a bit insecure with them. I'm a sophomore/junior in high school, so I am a bit afraid to let my classmates see them. I love them, I really do... I just... well, I'm insecure about them, at least while at school.
Here's a tumblr dedicated to hairy pits: http://hairypitsclub.tumblr.com/ all those BEAUTIFUL WOMEN!!
Oddly enough, I don't care one bit about showing my pits in public, just at school.
Any other non-shavers out there? I'd love to hear from you!

Cloth Pads?
Started over 3 years ago · Last post 8 months ago ·
I have been using a lunette cup for over a year now. It's really, really great! I even turned my mother on to the idea-her cramps have disappeared since she started using one! Cups are great because they give you no increased risk of TSS (UNLIKE tampons, because there's no absorption going on) and you can wear them when you're expecting your period to come, not just once it does come.
I experience a little bit of residual blood (think about-it's gonna happen with a cup) and so I wear panty liners. I've been thinking about making some cloth ones to replace the disposables, though. Much nicer! I also use a pad at night, because I do experience leakage right when I get up in the morning. Something odd about the movement, not sure what that is... I do use cloth pads at night sometimes.
As for the cup-public restroom dilemma, here's my fix. If you're not going to be able to get home over when you need to empty, you can just tip it into the toilet and put it back in. You can wipe out with TP or not. You should definitely wash it out well with a wash when you get home.
Here's a WONDERFUL community for cup users (or cup hopefuls): http://menstrual-cups.livejournal.com/

your scars
Started about 2 years ago · Last post about 2 years ago ·
No, it's not really a big factor in anything, I don't even notice it most of the time. It's just annoying sometimes, but I don't think it's worth any physical therapy (or the nerve equivalent), and it's too late anyways.

your scars
Started about 2 years ago · Last post about 2 years ago ·
I have only two visible scars that I ever actually notice. You don't actually see them unless you're looking for them.
They're like in a wide V across my upper knuckle. I don't know what the more noticeable one is from, but I do remember the little, fainter one.
I was pumpkin carving 3 or 4 years ago, and the knife slipped and I stabbed my finger. I was screaming, and my sister was talking on the phone and complaining to her friend about it. I had a band-aid on it for about a week (it really hurt!) and then I took it off and noticed that I couldn't feel a thing on the top of that finger from the bottom knuckle to the nail.
Now I have a really, really awful feeling whenever I touch that finger, like when you have really cold hands and dunk them into hot water. It's DISGUSTING! I hate it even more than the public school systems and the new Michigan driving laws. Oh well.
So I really neither like nor dislike them as far as looks go. It just sucks to not be able to like people touching your hands. Having to shun physical touch is one of the worst things...
Does anyone know anything about nerve regeneration and what might have actually happened??

What weird things do you find attractive?

I find men that just happen to be Hugh Dancy, James McAvoy, or Tom Milsom to be quite attractive.

Music suggestions?
Started about 2 years ago · Last post about 2 years ago ·
First off, the BEATLES!!!! An essential to all music selections. You at least have to have Hey Jude and Dear Prudence.
Breathe Owl Breathe (GREAT band, Grooveshark has some of them)
Sweeney Todd soundtrack
Moulin Rouge soundtrack (It's actual music, not just for the movie)
Bangles: Walk like an egyptian
Daisy May: Celia and Wendel (to start off. She's also sometimes put on as May Erlewine)
Flight of the Conchords (THEY ARE HILARIOUS!!!)
Joan Jett: bad reputation
K. T. Tunstall: Suddenly I See, Black Horse and the Cherry Tree
MAN MAN!!!!!!!! (without the caps or the !!!!!. They're GREAT!)
Michael Franti: Say Hey (I love you)
The Tallest Man On Earth: Where do my bluebirds fly (for a start)
I personally love all of these bands/songs. Hope you do too!

Ok. So, I found this really cool website in August.
The whole idea of yourstylerocks is FREE PATTERNS! And they're cool, pretty ones, too! I made the first one they did into a homecoming dress for myself. Every month, everyone can submit fashion ideas that they have. Everyone votes on their favorite one. The most voted on pattern is made into a pattern. You can just select a size, and print one off on your printer. It prints it to scale, and you just tape it all together and cut it out. (and keep it! Hardy har har. Cut out and keep. Hardy har. har. har.) I absolutely LOVE the idea of this site. It's a really cool thing, and it's completely FREEEE! (and they don't spam you when you give them your email!!!) I would hate to see the site dwindle and die, but there aren't a whole lot of active users. Cutoutandkeep is full of amazing, creative, active people, and I think a lot of us would love being on this site! It's really cool.
Anyways, just wanted to get the word out. Join up! They have two free patterns so far, and they are both absolutely beautiful.
Thanks for your time spent reading my ramblings,
Kiko

My friend's most awesome possum blog!
thegirlinolivegreenshoes.blogspot.com
She's really, really awesome! It's mainly fashion-oriented, but not just boring runways. She posts pictures of her outfits, and talks about life in general. Pretty amazing.

Death of a teacher?

Who's responsible for this?

Yeah. I think Crafterella is just Cat's official site persona. Her actual user is Cat Morley. Tom is her boyfriend, the maintenance person, who makes changes and such.

Death of a teacher?
Started about 3 years ago · Last post about 3 years ago ·
At school today we were told that our shop teacher, Mr. Foster, had been killed yesterday in a car crash. I'm having a hard time dealing with it. I am currently taking shop, and am very close to this teacher. He was a kind, sweet man. And I just can't believe it. Yesterday, he was whistling down the halls and telling us how not to get our hands cut off in the machines. I had gotten cut off by the bell when going to finish sanding away part of the handle. I would have finished it today. Now he's gone. I may never finish that project. I feel so angry, because I know it could have been prevented. Had I or anyone talked to him before he left, so he was delayed a little bit, he would be here now. And he wasn't even a fragile person. Everyone loved him. A friend of my parents, who is involved in the school board, found out early today. She told my mom that she knew he thought highly of me. I will never be able to thank him for being my teacher. But to think he was talking to me just yesterday, and then at 2:30 he was gone. It's terrible, and I hate it. I don't want the last time I see him to be at a funeral. Has anyone had to go through something like this? How am I supposed to handle this?

first kiss?
Started over 3 years ago · Last post almost 3 years ago ·
I am 14. And no, I haven't had my first kiss yet. Ah well... But a guy asked me if I would mind if he kissed me. I guess it was really quite courteous of him, actually, to ask first. Well... I guess he wasn't really asking and didn't expect to be turned down. He must have thought I was a complete idiot, because I just got really super dizzy and almost blacked out. I mean, I didn't think that getting asked would be such a big deal. But then I stood there for what must have been ten minutes (ok, probably less) and said something like: "Wow. Umm... No one has ever asked that before" and he said "really?", obviously starting to get uncomfortable and regretting he ever asked. I commenced with "uh, no, they haven't. Umm... uhh... *lots of silence* no," "wait- no you wouldn't mind or-" "no, I mean like no, you can't". Let me fill you in. I had met him because he was a family friend's grandson. He played trumpet, like me. He wanted to hear me play. I played a scale (with braces without my mouthguard that I was used to) and he said "woah, you're really good". What an idiot. The next day we went back and there was this other guy that I actually really, REALLY liked there. The guy came out when my mom and I walked up to the house. It was dark, and he asked which one was me. I started to go inside, but he asked me to come with him. And he went to the side of the house and asked me. The worst part was that when we went inside he started talking to the guy that I really liked, and they left! But really, I mean, what an idiot! I guess he was sort of cute, but I mean REALLY? Did he actually expect me to say yes? Ah well. I will never understand the opposite sex.
