With the Shrinky Dink brand it's 325 degrees Fahrenheit. I don't know what that translates to in Celsius.

    glass jars

Started over 3 years ago · Last post about 3 years ago ·
I agree that they're wonderful for storage. I have lots of little bits that I had to go out and buy jars for (e.g. buttons, scrabble tiles, cabochons, various jewelry findings). I have two huge glass jars that a former boss gave to me and I use one of them to store recycled bubble wrap in which I reuse for shipping things from my shop and the other I use to put rings and pendants I sell in.

What can i make from prescription pill containers?

Started over 3 years ago · Last post about 3 years ago ·
I'm a member of swap-bot.com and I've done a couple of swaps on there where we'd take our empty pill bottles, decorate them, and fill them full of little goodies (e.g. brads, sequins, ribbon, buttons, stickers, etc.) and send them to our partner. They were really fun swaps. Target has some really neat pill bottles that are oddly shaped and red that one of my partners made into a Christmas ornament for me. One of my friends is all about altering pill bottles now and when I remember I send her all my empty bottles. My doc loads me up on samples. :)

    resin opinion?

Started almost 4 years ago · Last post almost 4 years ago ·
Yeah, she's right. I use Easy Cast Clear Casting Epoxy. It's relatively inexpensive and super easy to work with! It's the only resin I've ever used and I really like it!

I'm currently working on resin jewelry, the kind you pour into molds. It's really fun, but takes a lot of patience waiting for it to dry!

I am in love with all things kitschy! I've been on a vintage plastic charms kick. ANYTHING weird inspires me. I'm also loving robots, monsters, zombies, and (yes this is weird) human organs (I embroider images of them) right now. Maybe I should be a surgeon.

Everywhere that I've looked it's been really expensive (or I'm really cheap). I usually just "borrow" it from my friend. He never uses it anyway. LOL

    Diamond Glaze Problemos

Started about 4 years ago · Last post about 4 years ago ·
There has been a recall on Diamond Glaze. I forget the batch number, but it affected the November 13, 2008 batch. During the drying process the glaze cracks. I've heard others tell that they've had the same problem with batches that WEREN'T recalled. I found a way to ensure that the glaze doesn't crack. When the glaze dries, room temp should not go below 70 degrees F. Since it's still cold where I live, I put my pieces to dry on a cookie sheet and lay them next to a heating vent. NEXT TO NOT DIRECTLY ON IT! Just as long as your drying pieces stay warm, you should be fine.

If I could use a sewing machine I would totally go bankrupt buying up all the kawaii fabric on etsy! But alas, I can only hand sew, so I'm sticking to felt.

Great idea! We have a used book store in Knoxville, TN and they always have books outside of the store for free. I should browse through there sometime and do my part to recycle. I can't wait until you're finished and post the project!

I can't really think of a fave project. I make so many little things because my skills are limited. Check out my profile and see what your faves are. I really love all my creations, but my embroidered projects are probably at the top o' my list.

I am doing so much embroidery right now. I'm am absolutely addicted to Sublime Stitching (who just joined this site yesterday!). They have the coolest embroidery patterns in the whole world! Y'all should check out their shop at www.sublimestitching.com. I probably unofficially own stock in the company now from all the stuff I buy from them.
