Do you stay up too late?

I do, I really need to go to bed earlier. I'm 14 and for me I should be going to be around 9:30pm but it always ends up being 11pm before I'm in bed, so annoying!

I'm terrible, I rarely go to bed before midnight and it makes it really hard to get up in the morning. I just find it really difficult to fall asleep at night and I always have. Does anyone have any tips?

    I'm the same!

sometimes I get to bed at 11 earliest basically you just need to say 'I'm gonna stop working/procrastinating at x time' and just do it! never happens though cuz you need to go tidy up or something happens! Less caffeine may help too and exersice later in the evening or even having a nap for a bit in the evening so you can go to bed at the time you usually would but still get up in the morning. Not that I do these things I don't have the time or energy haha

On work nights, me and the boyf usually get to bed round midnight. Which is bad as it means we only get about 6hrs sleep. We try to go for 11, but the usual, he's playing halo3 and I'm online lol
On non work nights we end up staying up until around 3am even if its a week night, which sucks, because then we don't get up until midday and that just ruins the whole day off, as you end up not moving until after 2pm! Especially in winter here when it's dark until after midday, on days off you just don't wanna leave the house!

I agree with the naps though, they keep me going on long days :)

Yeah, I think my body tries to hibernate in winter. I had an early evening nap today, I only meant to sleep for half an hour and catch the shops before they closed, but I woke up two hours later :s

I defiantly need to go to bed earlier or wake up later one of the two, but i can never sleep. : (

Yeah I am definitely part of the late club. I work better at night, there are less distractions and day time is for everyone else. I've always been a night owl since I was a little girl just like my father.
I need to learn to just go to bed. I'll feel better and it's good for me.

My tip is to get a short story book. One of those books with 3-10 page stories. Take it to bed and when you are done with one story close it and go to bed. It puts a nice definitive end on the day.

    also.... cocoa.

Opposites-girl: Me and my guy end up doing the same thing. I hate myself for it on the weekend when I should be up at 11:00 enjoying the day and then I get up at 2 and don't even get anywhere until 4.

Yes I feel like the whole day is wasted when you get up so late, the bad thing is on my new shift, we have a period were we have one day off sandwiched between two 4 day shifts, so you really need to make the most of the one day and if you sleep in late you are so angry!! It's this Monday and I am determined to go to bed early!! hehe

Yeah, I always go to bed too late.
For the first time in ages, last night I actually got to bed early, and I thought; 'Oh, this is great, I can read longer than usual.'
So I ended up reading late instead xD

I normally go up to bed around 11/11:30 cause I start feeling sleepy, but then when I get up there I can't sleep! So I text someone, and as soon as we get talking, I fall asleep on them =P I'm so inconvenient!

I usually don't have a problem falling asleep, though I do stay up too late often trying to catch up on things after my daughter falls asleep. The problem is, I wake up a few hours later and can't go back to sleep. About the only good thing about this problem is that it's helpful for chatting with friends in other parts of the world.

I'm resurrecting this cause it's 1:30 and I want to go to sleep but I foolishly stayed awake to watch Child's Play 2. I'm just glad I can sleeeeeeeeeeeeep tomorrow

eesh all the time!!! (my architecture school doesnt help), but at best I get 6 hours of sleep and on those nights I'm trying to finish a sewing project or something even less. I think the only time I sleep well is when my boyfriend is over and thats because he is one of those people who needs 10 hours just to function, so we go to bed pretty early. during school I average about 2-4 hours on those really harried weeks... although I did read a study about sleep deprivation, and getting 4 hours of sleep or less for one night has the same effect as a .08 blood alcohol level. Pretty sure thats not efficient

well it is 4:00 am monday morning so yeah i guess you could say i stay up late...not good for a working girl....=[

lol well... Sorry to say i BEAT YOU ALL! lol. From two days of hanging out with my friends when they first got and XBOXLive, my sleeping schedule has been messed up for around 4 weeks now. I go to bed at 10 in the morning, wake up at 4 in the afternoon, and stay up all night. Go to bed at 10 AM, wake up at 4 PM, etc etc etc.

Its pretty bad, I must say.

Which sucks even worse, because I'm a seasonal employe at my cousin's work, and now they need me for the next two weeks.... and... yea. I'm supposed to work WHEN I'm asleep. Almost the exact hours [9-4] so its gonna be kinda hard! lol

    Ouch sounds bad =S

I have to get up at 5:30 on college mornings, and I normally spend most of my night making things. I just suddenly decide I need to turn that scarf into a dress and can't go to bed till it's done. And oh dear, tonight Child's Play 3 is on so I'll be up till 1:30 watching THAT, then have to get up early in the morning to get to the train station

When I was in school I had so much homework that when I did sleep, it was at the oddest hours. I'd average about ten hours a week. Get home from school at five, take a nap until dinner at seven, then up all night doing homework. Weekends were a toss up, depending on whether my parents thought I was doing anything useful or if my teacher decided, you know what, read the Iliad in a weekend (actual assignment). In college I kind of had the same sleep schedule. Except I could sleep more. Except finals week, where I'd average about three to six hours the entire week. (The week I was able to sleep three hours, I was having black outs and taking about the equivalent of 30 shots of espresso a day. Plus side is I know how to get off caffeine without a headache) Now I just can't get to sleep! I go to bed at nine pm, and it's four in the morning before I can sleep, then I wake up a nine in the morning. For the last month I've been a zombie. :( I am working on it though!

    That sounds really awful!

I've found that Berocca is brilliant for when you're knackered and need energy. It's kinda like Pro-Plus, but instead of being horribly bad for you (especially for people like me, who get panic attacks), it's full of vitamins and things =)

    aaw god poor Violinagin!

There was this drummer at college who hardly ever slept he only managed to get to sleep after god knows how many years after smoking erm something...once he fell asleep on his drums in the middle of rehersal because he was also working a night shift at a supermarket.

How come when you haven't had much sleep you still can't get to sleep when you need to!

I'm 12, and I normally go to bed around 3-5 A.M. I think its because I can never sleep (and the fact that I don't wanna listen to my parents when they tell me to go to sleep, I know that's wrong). I don't need that much sleep though, so its fine.
  22. Posted almost 5 years ago
some people can actually function fine with only a few hours sleep so moon owl you're probably one of them!
  23. Posted almost 5 years ago
Holy wow, disarray, and I felt guilty when I was going to bed at 7am. Right now I'm getting to bed at about 2-3am, but I'm trying to shift it back so I won't feel tired all the time when school starts up.

It's two thirty and I'm still up!! Though I'm still pumped from watching the Olympics (first day I've seen)

There will be coffee and rockstar tomorrow!
  25. Posted almost 5 years ago
I was out drinking till four this morning. Then came back and watched the olympics for an hour. Beach volleyball, of all things!
  26. Posted almost 5 years ago
that must have been an amazing thing to watch while drunk!
  27. Posted almost 5 years ago
    Yeah, it was weeeeiiird
  28. Posted almost 5 years ago
Yep! I'm basically sleep deprived!! I'm usually in bed at around 1 am, but lately going to bed earlier since my daughter's school started!

*cries* I just started my job, and I couldn't get to sleep, so I'm working on all of two hours. And now I'm grumpy and miserable...

... oh well. An hour and fifteen minutes until I let myself go to bed!

I went to bed at 5:30 this morning, then couldn't sleep for ages, then had to get up at ten. Tomorrow I get a little lie-in, Saturday I'll be up early for work, then going out on Saturday night so no sleep then, and on Monday I have to go back to 5:30!
