I thought it would be nice to share stuff from the country you come from. Music, culture, funny facts, products, anything. I believe we do have quite a bit of non-English people here who can show us interesting stuf.

I'd like to start with this song by Dutch band Leaf. It's called wonderwoman. The leadsinger has a horrible Dutch accent for which I'd like to ask your forgiveness in advance ;-)

well I am from canada, but my region is the Island of Newfoundland. We have a very stong culture here, we are newfies.

Funny facts about the Dutchies:

when Dutch schoolchildren pass their exams, they hang a Dutch flag and a school bag outside their homes
the Dutch are the tallest people in Europe (except for me then...)
with only 0.008% of the world's area, the Netherlands is the world's third largest agricultural exporter
people in Holland eat raw herring with onions on top (except for me)

Townie is anyone from St John's(the capital and the 2nd oldest city in North America) and A bayman comes from outside st john's, usually a small community. I am from out round the bay. So I am a bayman even though I live in Town.

Illinois supossedly has the third largest city in the U.S. ....Chicago...there is the north side and the south side...some people call the south side the sox side...because the White Sox! GOOO SOX!!....I don't live in Chicago, but I'm a couple hours a way from it. Most of Illinois is flat farm land. We have 4 seasons, summer, fall, winter, and spring. (I know some states don't get snow). What else....ummm..Obama did not originally grow up in Chicago, but he is from Chicago...even though Chicago is known for dirty politics. I know...it's weird.
