    Games that freak you out...

Alright, does anyone play Demon's Souls? If you don't then you're probably gonna think that I'm some kind of freak.

Just bought the game a few months ago and I still haven't beat it. I like the game, its just that I don't play it that often because I always get killed by the wolves. :( In fact, I'm not even close to beating the game. Already beat the first boss but I'm afraid to get killed by those wolves. :o

This game is so SPOOKY. And why do they have to have creepy music in the background, I guess its suppose to add effect or something... especially when you're creating a new character, gives me the chills.

And YES, I have heard of "SAVE" and "LOAD." But in this game, none of that exist! So if you die, which will be, 10,000 times, they send you back to the beginning of the level where you have to start all over again until you finally beat the boss, that way you can pass on to the other level and die 10,000 times again and start all over in that place until you beat the boss. Hopefully that makes sense to you. Just over exaggerating.

Another thing that scares me is that you don't know what to expect. Okay, so a fat dude with flamethrowers might pop up and kill you but then you never know if a pack of wolves will chase after you... luckily, I survived that threat, by shooting them with a machine gun! XD

And the only way to pee is by quitting the game because you can't pause this game. Gosh, this has to be the hardest game I have ever played. Like I'm gonna have fun playing this on Halloween...

What games freak you out and why?

I hate Guitar Hero. It makes me ill and hypnotised.

HAHA! I used to play guitar hero, but then my dad bought RockBand so I just stuck to that because it had a better gameing experience.

Urgh rockband was even worse! My housemate used to play it continuously. It's the clicking and the strobing colours.

LOL, Really? The first time I played Guitar Hero all I could remember was the loud strumming. I don't think any Harmonix games are good for you. :(

I'm freaked by resident evil or any zombie games! It started as a kid. I was about 10 years younger than one of my cousins who would hang out with my brother and they would play resident evil and I was 5 and it scared me. Now when i try to play i get freaked and stop. It has background music and breathing sound effects and all of a sudden a zombie is behind you. it's spooky

Exmortis is a game that I love love love but it FREAKS ME OUT!!!
It's an online point and click game by Ben Leffler.
The graphic are so creepy, the soundtrack just gives me chills (I can't play with the audio on and the lights off lol It just has an effect on me) and the storyline, to me, is just amazing.
It's mysterious and he adds in little side stories (and, for me, they just kinda sucked me in emotiaonlly. Usually I don't bother with reading the side stories, but I couldn't help it with this game) that just makes the overall plot richer and more interesting.

I still haven't worked up the courage to play the third one o^_^o

    DEAD SPACE.
This game... is so creepy... and I've figured out it is exponentially scarier alone... in the dark... at night... with a surround sound headset... More than anything the headset makes a difference.
I love it so much though
Resident Evil 4 freaked me out a bit as well when I was playing it alone in the dark :p ...

    Descent makes me seasick...

Also, the bit in Resident Evil with the dogs and the windows (if you've played it you know *exactly* where I mean) always makes me jump. Even though I'm expecting it.

Haha Pandora, someone showed me that bit in Resident Evil and I'm sure it is terrifying in game, but out of it, it looks so crap =P

Silent Hill 2 absolutely terrified me. And I agree with Dead Space!

Any game where monsters come out and go BLEURGH!!! from nowhere... though it gives you the giddy thrill of screaming a little then shooting the bugger to pieces!!

I'm playing Amnesia and it is really scary. Totally submersive. You don't get any weapons and have to rely on your wits...or hide... Can't play it alone!

I'm the connoisseur of scary video games. Fatal Frame is hands down the scariest thing I've ever played. It's about a haunted mansion and a girl's brother goes missing in it so she goes to find him. When she does she realizes the house is haunted and out to hurt her. She uses a camera to fight them. I guess in Japanese culture they believe taking pictures with a camera can capture their soul. Kind of neat.

We were playing in the dark years ago(my friends and I) and a glitch occurred at one point. A head is supposed to roll down the stairs everytime you pass the stairs(It's a ghost head to boot so it tries to kill you). But when we passed the camera angle was different. It looked straight at the stairs instead of from behind you. And the head continued to roll closer and closer to the screen. We screamed and freaked out because we almost thought it was going to come right through the screen for a moment.

OMG! I agree with Momo! I already beat the game, but it was awesome! Although I never did save Agrippa. When I did play it I would wait until late when it was really dark. I played it in the spring so there were lots of thunderstorms and I would open the window up. The cold wet air would send goosebumps and shivers up my spine. It was an AWESOME game. (Amnesia: The Dark Descent) Now I sorta miss it and want to play it again. lolz :)

FEAR is utterly terrifying. I've never played it myself but I watched my friend play for 5 minutes. I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life. I heard that the actual FEAR game testers were too terrified to go to the bathroom alone at night after playing..

Games where I can shoot the thing attacking me in the face [such as Dead Space, Resident Evil, etc.] don't scare me because...well...I can shoot the bad guys in the face. However, Fatal Frame scares the living crap out of me. I've always had a deep hatred for ghosts and that game only ups it. Silent Hill scares me sometimes but that's just when I'm walking around with only a wooden plank that has nails stuck to the end. Also, a fixed camera has a big contribution to the scariness of a game.

I think Plants vs Zombies is TERRIFYING.

I'm just kidding, by the way.

The scariest game I'VE played is the Scary Face Maze Game 2. I bet many, many people here will agree that it's just...disturbing...

I won't play Fatal Frame or the Silent Hill games. Oddly enough I beat Dead Space and it didn't scare me at all. It was just gross in some spots with excessive gore/blood, but was never actually scary except the very last cut scene that startled me (although I was startled, I wouldn't call it scared for the point either).

dead space and dead space 2 make me jump which i like, i found there to be very little gore, and you could have turned off the gore Lil_mermaid.
there arent any games that scare me/give me bad dreams, but a few with their movement make me feel motion sick lol

Silent Hill 4 scares the heck out of me. I have seen my sister and brother play it and I've had nightmares about the game before. But I might play it sometime in the future just for the scare. XD

When I was little Clocktower 2 The struggle within scares me to this day. George Maxwell creeps me out. I remember when I was little my family played a lot of scary games.
