YIKES Eczema!

I seemed to have developed Eczema over the past two days and it's horrible! I just woke up with a patch of dry red flaky skin on my face the other morning at it hasn't gone away despite how much moisturizer I've used or how much Vitamin E oil I rub on it at night. I’m now doing some major research on how to get rid of it naturally and have already applied some Olive Oil on it (the first thing I’ve used that hasn’t burned when I applied!) Hopefully that helps a bit.

Anyone else deal with this and have had success on getting rid of it naturally? This really sucks!

Both of my little sisters have eczema on their hands, and they put moisturizer (I believe its Cetaphil.) on at night and then put those soft lotion gloves over them. You know the ones that are advertised as being "aloe-infused" and such. (Honestly, the aloe does nothing.) I have a feeling you could do this with any soft material. Maybe put natural lotion on before you go to bed and sleep with a moist washcloth on your face. If it's in an acessible place, ace bandage it. Also, refrain from using any sort of harsh cleanser on your face. It will just irritate it further. Just wipe your face with a warm wet washcloth.

One of my best friends back home in PA has eczema. For Christmas, I made her some scrub with brown and white sugar, honey, and green tea leaves. She said it really helped reduce her eczema. Maybe try that?

I highly suggest this ointment. The texture is similar to Vaseline but the results are way better. A woman whose son had eczema told my mom about this product she used for her son, so my brother and I tried it. It instantly takes the irritation away and is the only stuff I use anymore.
Bonus it's cheap. Hope this helps.

Last night I put a mixture of olive oil and Turmeric powder on the area and let it sit for about 15 minutes before washing it off. It turned the area yellow which I suppose is better than red. I washed my face as normal, applied my heavy night cream all over except the area that was affected. I put olive oil and vitamin E oil on my eczema and rubbed it in for several minutes before covering it with gauze. When I woke up this morning it was MUCH better. No longer red or yellow, hardly dry at all. Just a few flakes and none of that weird weathered old skin look. I applied some more olive oil on it and recovered it. I will probably keep it covered for as long as possible today and then remove it if I see my boyfriend.

I think that might have been a trigger for mine. I was getting ready to go into a job interview when mine flared up. Also I switched from an oil-based foundation to an oil-free foundation from a completely different company. I cannot tell you what a waste of money it was to go back to covergirl after using avon products. After I get through this bottle of foundation I'm going straight back to Avon, the quaility is so much better.

Stress is a big one for me, im moving house and now had a painful flare up on my leg Happy I think i might have order some avon foundation I've heard great things about it, the only other foundation ive been able to use recently is Boots naturals tinted moisteriser with a bit of mineral powder foundation, all the other stuff has either given me spots or dried my skin out.

My daughter suffers with it badly and it's always on her face, normally it means she's coming down with something.

She occassionally has to use a steroid treatment (prescribed by our GP) I also swear by diprobase.

I also have chronic eczema on my hands. For me, emu oil (which is more like emu grease, truth be told) works as an intensive overnight treatment. I also have a prescription for an ointment that's too harsh for the face.

But it's the hydrocortisone cream that keeps it permanently at bay. I use it as a moisturizer anytime my hands begin to get dry, usually a few times a day. I use fragrance-free lotion in between and for body moisturizing, but that alone does not work for me. I have to use hydrocortisone daily or else my eczema comes back.

My doctor said hydrocortisone cream is the usual recommended treatment for mild eczema, but also told me about emu oil for the intensive treatment.
