    Starting to Knit?

Started about 1 year ago · Last post about 1 year ago · Displaying all 4 Post
I'm just starting to learn basic knitting skills and am having some troubles. Can anybody suggest things that make it easier to learn to knit? I already know how to cast on, but I need more help with the other basics.

By the way, what size of needles is it easiest to learn with (I have 10.5 and 6)?

The large 10's work well because you can really see your stitches, however you should use the needle size recommended for the yarn on the label.

Make sure the way you're knitting is the most comfortable way for you. I had a hard time learning until I discovered I'm a left-handed knitter :P. I also found it easier if you turn your needles to make a right angel, that way you won't have to worry about the yarn slipping off by accident.

Olivia, I have learned so much by googling whatever it is I need to know. For example, just google "how to knit" and a choice of things will come up to select. There will be some YouTube videos that will show you how to do anything you need, and the beauty is you can pause it and start up again when you're ready. Good luck!
