I try looking hard for knit ones and end up just crocheting them (one of the patterns i know right off of the top of my head besides granny squares) has anyone else had this same issue? and how have you overcome it/what tricks did you learn to make them?

I've never knitted flowers myself, but I always remember my Grandma knitting small ones to put on her tea cosy (they were so sweet!). The caffinated knitter has other projects and they all are written in a simple way. I liked that one as it looks like it will knit up quickly and it gives a pattern that looks complicated but isn't...Lol

I'm going to use round needles in the same way as I use normal ones in a back and forth way. It's easier to keep lots of stiches on without it bunching or dropping stitches.

I made my own version of a knitted flower, I casted on 20 and knitted till it was a square, then casted off. I also cast on 5 of another colour and knitted till square then casted off. On the bigger square i had sewn all the edges into the middle then taken all the pieces between the edges and had sewn them in too. Once i had done that i finally sew the smaller square in the middle of the big one. I will be uploading a picture soon i think =/

Here's a pattern:

Cast on 6 st.
1: Knit 3 yo, knit to end
2: Knit
Repeat 1&2 until you have 11 stitches.
For the 12th do 1 then Bind off the 1st 6 st. and knit to end.

Repeat until you have 5 points. Sew the ends together, then weave yarn in and out of the holes from the yo's, pull tight. Ta dah!
