Learning to Knit

Hello there :3
Well, i've decided id like to learn to knit. The weathers slowly getting colder, and theres a few things id like to make myself this winter.
I don't really want to buy a book, unless anyone knows any amazing ones...
Does anyone have any online tutorials/videos?
How did you learn to knit?

My nan taught me the basics when I was a kid. I know you don't want books but I can thoroughly recommend Knitting for Dummies (no offence)

I recommend finding a local yarn shop (if there's one near you) and stopping in to say hello! Yarn shop owners are often glad to help you out with learning, and sometimes they offer classes. Look around and see what you can find!

You might be able to find helpful tutorials online, but I know that for me personally, I learn something better if I have someone actually help me or show me.

There are quite a few knitting websites. some of them have free patterns and tutorials. A magazine is a cheaper option than books, there are loads in supermarkets these days.
I'm rubbish at knitting, I make holey dishcloths! Lots of luck

Hey i have a suggestion. If your anything like me ( impatient C: ) then you should try using quite big needles to start with. you see your work growing really quickly and if you start on small needles it feels like it takes forever and gets nowhere. Good luck!!!

I've tried to learn to knit like a 100 times, and still didn't get anywhere with it. HappyHappy
Somehow knitting and crocheting just not work for me. Happy(

A good beginner project would be using Jiffy Brand Thick and Quick yarn. Cast on about 10-12 and keep knitting until you have a scarf.

I am working on a few knitting tutorials on youtube. I've only done a few, and they aren't too good, but I finally got a better camera, so I hope to get the time to upload some more.

There are so many amazing knitting videos on youtube that I can't even compare to, so just browse around, they're really helpful for all knitters.

I taught my self the basics with the cheap how to knit book..that is all i can do is basics..lol.
