Martha Stewart Knitting Loom: Should I or shouldn't I?

I have yet to purchase Martha Stewart's Knitting Loom but I know I will unless someone tells me that it is horrible. I own many different looms already.

No, unless you like collecting looms, because there is nothing in her kit wroth the price. It's only a round loom, long loom, and weaving loom. Since you have some looms, pretty much you have those looms in the kit already. If you like collecting looms then yeah try Martha looms out.

The main appeal to me was the seeming smaller gauge of the pegs.

I would encourage you not to buy it. The construction is very poor. The pegs do not stay in the holes and the loom pieces do not snap together tight. I bought it because I needed a really large loom and thought I would be able to construct one with the kit, however you are limited in loom sizes. I was unable to construct the size I needed and returned it due to poor construction. It is way overpriced. I used a 40% off coupon at Michaels so I only paid $20something, but it was not even worth that.

Oh Martha, how could you? Thank you Stacy. I typically purchase my supplies from thrift stores for many reasons and am grateful to stop fantasizing about this garbage. How many looms do you own?

I have 5 round and 1 rectangle Knifty Knitter. The rectangle was the first one I bought. I don't use that one much since you can do flat knitting on the round looms. I just got the largest 48 peg round one about a month ago to make slouchy tams. I do better switching from knit to purl stitches on looms rather than needles.

I learned a variety of stitches from the link below. I use the regular knit stitch since it looks most like standard needle knitting wit. From your picture it looks like you were doing the e-wrap stitch, which produces the loose knit look. I only e-wrap my cast on stitches.

This link is great it explains the stitches and gives a video for each. There are also lots of videos on Youtube that I use to help with stitches.

How exciting! Thank you so much for that link. I'll be able to watch the videos and practice them tomorrow. What projects have you done with your looms?

I've only completed basic projects, scarves, fingerless gloves, and hats. I found a pattern today for a scarf using that new ruffle yarn. I've been wanting to work with that yarn, but didn't know how on a loom, now I can.

Here's the free tutorial I found

I've been looking for a pattern for a cowl on a loom, but haven't had any luck.
