How do you organise your book shelves?

What do you have on them and how have u organised them? Heres mine

Dvds, then normal and cookery books, then craft stuff

Ohh this one is easy - I put them in a rainbow. The only problem is a lack of space! Embarrassed

I mean one day they're going to avalanche me... but at least I'll die happy!

I try to keep my craft books and crafty stuff together on the landing.

I try to keep the books in the living room in categories so I know where to find things

Our dvd's are sorted in to categories. The cd's are in alphabetical and chronological order (well until I put them back they are)

The books themselves may be organised but as you can see on the photos the shelves and tops of books end up being a dumping ground for junk. (I did consider moving all the tat for the pics so no one could see how messy I really am)Embarrassed

I'm so jealous of all these books. I've lost so many books due to moving. I'm slowly rebuilding. Lol! I will have to add pictures later.

I would love to do the rainbow bookshelves thing, but I work in a library and I NEED to put books in some sort of order!

These are our new shelves in the lounge, we moved here about a year ago and the house is a fixer-upper so loads of our stuff is still packed while we do house stuff. These are my fiction books (organised by genre), with room for my husbands books when he unpacks them. Our DVD collection is in the drawers under the shelves (organised alphabetically!) I'm waiting for shelves to be put up in dining room for my non fiction books! Happy

@MischievousRaven Me too! We have waaay to many! Trying to resist buying any boxset DVDs at the moment, we want to get a new TV and have netflix or something instead, we can't fit any more boxsets in!

Hehe @secondhandsusie @MischievousRaven - I was brave and bagged up all of my DVDs for my friends to sell at a yard sale. I'd been putting it off for ages but there's really no need with Netflix etc!
