How do you organize your spices?

Feel free to tell me off if you think I'm being a little OCD but I love seeing how everyone organizes their homes differently, so let's start lots of How do you organize your... topics and each share a photo of how we do it. It'll be awesome inspiration and we might all learn some new ideas to get tidy and save space. I'm starting with spices:

I keep my sices in little square jars (the type they come in for Tesco's own brand), wash off the labels, paint them with chalkboard paint and then relabel them with chalk. Every time I use up a spice, I save my jar and put something else from my spice stash in it. They all sit neatly in a little row behind my kitchen and stack really well because they're square. Share pics you two - not fancy ones, just quick phone snaps.

Do you like this concept? If so, I will totally run around the house showing you how I organize everything. I'm such a nerd Geek

P.s. Just create a new How do you organize... thread if you have any requests and I'll show you mine, if you show me yours?

@MischeviousRaven - that's what my drawers used to look like, so I started saving one type of jar up, painting the lids with chalkboard paint and then repackaging everything. It makes everything so easy to find and looks nice and uniform too!

We just moved into a house with 6 other people so our spices are SUCH A WRECK!!! Everyone brought their own so we basically have [at least] 7 of just about every single general herb or spice(many of us have lived with other roommates who abandoned spices, so really its more like 15 peoples spice cabinets). We took 2 hours the other day to combine and condense them and made a small dent in the pile.
My plan is to get small ceramic/glass lidded jars with spoons for the everyday use herbs and just have them organised by colour (white for salt, off-white for garlic, red for spicy pepper, black for pepper, green for basil, you get the idea) then stash the rest. Since we have so many people in the house, we are looking into buying bulk herbs and just grinding them with a coffee grinder as needed.

Copy away!!! Happy

I made some spice mixes the other day and put them in little jars I had picked up (with tiny spoons! squeeeee!) and labeled with paint pens.

Other than that I organised the pile we had (took 2 hours just to condense!) and sorted them by color lol. red green yellow and white. easy enough system and simpler than alphabetical
