how to upcycle vinyl from a swimming pool?

Hi! Well, after 5 long years, our swimming pool has finally died - each time we patch a hole it seems another appears so we are sadly dismantling it in the next week or so and getting rid of it. I don't want to put the thing in landfill (it's round, 15 feet across by 3 feet deep) and that's a lot of vinyl to trash. Does anyone have any great ideas for how to upcycle all of this lovely blue vinyl into something else? Thanks!

Could you use it as a seating area? Fill it with blankets and cushions and use it for lounging?

If you carefully sew some fleece or other soft fabric against it, you can use it (or a part of it) as a picnic blanket. Or you can even picnic on it without the soft fabric ;)

Make a fort out of it! Or build a treehouse and use the pool vinyl as a roof.

What a GREAT challenge! I love the idea of using it as liner for blankest (Sanne D.) or rain coats, gators, etc. If it's the printed type you indeed have some lovely colors to work with! (Shower curtain?)

It would make great weed barrier too. Probably last for YEARS.

You can plant small plants and place it in that area making it a small nursery of selected plants. If you want more creative ideas you can visit the north home gallery display centre where you will be guided as to what can be done of the swimming pool space.
