My bedroom re-style!

I'm 12 and I share a small bedroom with my 15 year old sister. She's a girly girl, but I hate pink! We can't agree on a theme, and our room is too small to have a decent divider. Has anyone got any potential ideas?

Find a color you both like. Write down lists of what you each like and pick out the things you agree on.

My sister and I shared a room that was very small. If you sleep on different sides, you can divide the room using sheets, shower curtains, etc. You can have a different "look" on each side. You can put pockets on the divider to store things.

If you can't separate you really are going to have to find a compromise as Monika suggested. Google up Small teenage girl Bedroom remodels to get some idea's

Another idea is to paint each side of the room a color that goes with pink (for her side) and whatever color you like for yours. It will still look like one room but just different style and accents.

Good luck! In another few rooms she'll be gone and that room will be all yours, sister!

You could try getting together a bundle of magazines, colour charts, clothes, photos, fabric, anything that inspires you and each fill a box with as many items that you like or inspire you. You then sit down with each others box and look through and have a 'I like too' pile and a 'meh' pile Happy If you don't want to physically do it you could also create a couple of boards on pinterest each - one for pinning the things you like and one for repinning the things your sister has pinned and you like too. Good luck though - its got to be tough sharing when you're older so hope you are able to work something out.

Maybe you should get some neutral color furniture & pick a neutral wall color or one you both like. ...then she can decorate her half with pink stuff. & you can decorate yours with whatever you want.
I hated sharing a room with my sister too. Lol

I used to share a bedroom with my little brother until I was 10. THAT was rough, lol. He's about 2 years younger than I am, so he always has his toys and Legos on the floor, and all my toys were kept neatly in my toybox. Tongue

The one thing we agreed on was a big metal bunk bed. The top was a twin size mattress and the bottom was a full size mattress. I got the bottom one and ended up hanging blankets around it so I would have a mock canopy bed. Plus, since we had a bunk bed instead of two beds, we had more floor and closet space. I had all of my things stored in bookshelves to save space and make use of the walls a little more.

I shared with BOTH of my sisters for a time! we had to have white walls and we realy just got our themed bed sets. That way there was no fighting... strict..right? lol

check out rooms with two colors. When my son was born he had a gree, blue and yellow wall in his room, so multi colors can go well together. Try it out. and you may be stuck with just keeping your stuff seperate from her as best as possible and! have to look a bit of pink for a while too.

I hope that you find something cool, and see about working pink in as an accent anyhow, its not good a main... I think.
