Horrific Crafting Injury *Photo included*

Free Hand Machine embroidery. I couldn't be bothered to attach the guard, and boy did I learn.

It was the thread that hurt. My dad pulled it out for me.

Yeah, just this afternoon. Doesn't hurt half as much as it looks like it does. My reaction was "Oops. Mum, can you give me a hand?"

And then obviously I took a photo before it was removed.

I don't think I could have taken a photo, I would have been trying to get it out without causing more pain.

Owe owe owe owe, that looks so sore. Whenever I get something stuck in me, like a thumbtack in my foot etc., I have to get someone to pull it out for me - I hate doing it myself. Ouch.

My most horrific craft injuries have been stitching over my fingers, stitching needles in to my fingers and one time when I snapped the needle and it hit me just below my eye.

I think my worst was when I was learning to use my new machine and got my finger skinned by the screw on the other side of the needle foot eughhhhh

Well, I'm officially frightened of sewing now.

Mebbe I'll take up something safe, like macrame or latch hook.

No no it's fine! It's just I was being foolish and had removed the attachment that keeps things like this from happening. Please don't be scared of sewing, it is amazing. I have since been doing a lot more. Nothing can keep me from my beautiful machine, even it trying to eat me.

It healed like a dream. I'm kind of upset about this because I was looking forward to telling people about it and going "EURGH LOOK AT THIS!" but now I have to go "you see this tiny hole here? and then this tiny hole here? well a needle went through them."

And it's not as good Sad

Eek, that gave me the creeps. =/ Ouch! Stuff like this happens to me all the time. Clumsiness and crafts don't always mix.
