Hem question.

I've sewn a lot, but just not a lot of clothes. But I don't know if this counts as clothes? I'm going to try to make heel condoms(stupid name) and I'm going to use an old t shirt. Anyways, my question is should I hem all the pieces before I sew them together? And would anybody now how I could get it to stay on the back of the heel? No glue. I want it to be interchangeable. And if you don't know what the heel condoms look like: http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/board/entertainment/fashion_and_beauty/4943-what-do-you-think-on-heel-condoms

Oh and I'm going to be making two pairs. One with straps and one with no straps.

Thanks!

I wouldn't bother hemming t-shirt material unless you want a clean and finished look. And then you would only hem what layer would be on the outside of the material.

As for getting it to stay up- the only thing I could think of is if you were to make ties for them.

When I saw the picks they look like they have elastic on the inside of the "condom" and either a clip that hooks onto the back of the shoe, or a really stiff material on the inside to keep the top part sitting up straight... hrm

Thank you!!! I think I will buy some hooks like the ones that are on bras and try that out. Thanks again!

Erm...bit tricky this one. Looking at the picture it looks like they are a tight fit. You could use a thin stiffener at the top to keep the shape. You could always have a couple of ties underneath at the top of the heel to pull it together. If you can get some thin magnetic stick on strips it might work too. Can't think of anything else Happy

I didn't even think of using magnets! My sister has a giant strip of magnets. I think I might try that too. Thanks!
