Whiter teeth?

After years of subjecting my teeth to junkfood, they're left a little ugly. I want to whiten them naturally and preferably in a way that has pretty immediately noticeable effects. I brush my teeth twice a day and always use mouthwash after brushing, and I have decent flossing habits but nothing really whitens them much at all. (I don't use a whitening toothpaste because they can be bad for gums.)

I don't want to have to use a commercial product like White Strips if I can avoid it, and I don't have a particularly huge budget since it takes me like 2 months to go through a tube of toothpaste and bottle of mouthwash.

I've looked online a little and some people suggest eating apples (which I already do) and adding baking soda to their toothpaste.

Has anyone tried anything natural that really works? My teeth aren't horribly yellow by any stretch of the imagination... I just want them to be whiter. I'd also rather hear about someone else's experiences before I jump into doing what completely random strangers on the internet say, lol.

Let me see if I can find it again, but I read that rubbing the inside of a banana peel on your teeth helps. By inside I mean, peel the banana, eat the banana (or feed it to someone lol), take the peel, and yellow side away from your teeth (so not the yellow side) rub it around. I am not sure how long or how frequent. But, like I said I will poke around and see if I can find it again. Happy

Hm... reminds me that I've seen my mom do that but with the inside of an orange peel.
I'm thinking fruit might be the way to go.
I really just wanna impress the historians at the university because I already dress nice. Now I just need perfect teeth. lol

Strawberries and banana peels are supposed to whiten your teeth. Also a mixture of peroxide and baking soda used once a week like toothpaste will help to whiten them. I don't do any of the above but I do drink water thoughout the day and I've been told I have very white teeth despite my soda addiction.

I'm going to try the baking soda and peroxide tonight if I can run into town. I drink mostly water, but I've been drinking lots of tea lately.
Gonna try strawberries if I can find some good fresh cartons around here.

I don't know about the banana peel but be careful with the fruits.. the acid in them can damage your tooth enamel making them even more likely to stain and weaken to cavities. Baking soda is the best "natural" way I can think of without strips or bleaching.

Fruit rinds like orange don't actually have a lot of acid in the peels.

I'll have to research clove oil.

I tried clove oil earlier and it seems to have worked Happy Left a weird taste and feeling in my mouth for a while but that's just what clove does, I suppose. lol. But it definitely did whiten my teeth a little.

Maybe using clove oil daily may whiten it more.
