Ever Think of This??

How many of us have had our hair cut and hated it, either because it was too short or we did it ourselves and did a crappy job? Well, I recently cut my hair and am not thrilled with it. I was trying for a layered shaggy look, didn't quite work out. Anyway, I began to think about how I could get some clip in Hair wefts online or in a store. Hard to find and expensive they are. But what if we knew how to create our own hair wefts from our own haircut in case we hate it? I imagine you would need to use thread or something to secure the hair into a flat, even piece and sew it, then attach a clip to the top. Would this work? Desperate times call for desperate measures, you see. Just a thought...

You need some sort of thin but durable fabric at least 1/2 an inch in height. & about an inch in length to fit the hair clip.

an iron

glue gun/ glue

hair clips

curved needle and thread intended for hair products( from Sally)

Iron the fabric in half lengthwise. Then open the crease of the fabric and glue below the crease (not on the crease!)across the fabric.

Lay the amount of hair you want on top of the glue lightly tap with a popsicle stick or something like it so you don't get burned. Then put a thin layer of glue on top of the hair (again not touching the crease)and fold down the fabric on the hair and press.

Once the glue has dried and cooled. You can sew them to the hair clip (hair clips have holes at the top for this purpose.)
Sew through the crease/ the area where you did not glue and sew up through the holes in the hair clip.

*** I wouldn't try gluing them to the hair clip b/c with constant snapping it'll peel off.***

You may also be able to use hemmig tape but I'm not sure how effective it'd be since I've never tried it this way before.

Wow, it seems everything has already been worked out....Thanks for the advice. I will definitely do that next time I cut my hair.

Wow. That's such a brilliant idea. I wish I'd thought of this when cutting my hair from hip length to only an inch or 2 in length. I love having long hair but I don't have the guts or patience to grow it back through that annoying stage..
