RANT RANT RANT

Ok so we have lived in our present house for about four months now and we have paid our rent on time the other three months. But this month a lot of things have been going on with my husbands boss and he has screwed us over big time. We called our landlord to let him know that we were going to have to be late on rent and he said it was fine as long as he got it before the end of the month. and if my calculations are correct there are still ten more days left in this month. well anyways him and his wife just came over and told us that we were lazy, unreliable.... all these mean things and they were completely rude! I understand that he was angry about not getting his rent on time( and he has every right to be) but he said we had to the end of the month! WHEW!!! thanx for letting me rant. I feel better all ready.

Sorry to hear about what your husbands boss has done and about your landlord doing that. Your landlord sounds horrible he shouldnt be coming round making accusations and being abusive, if he said it was fine it should be alright. I'd suggest looking into the law about this just incase so you know what your rights are and where you stand... I dont know if its the same in the US as it is here in the UK.

Lovely. A double-whammy from the boss and the landlord. I'm guessing they know they can get away with it in this economy, but then again, the landlord at least should be a little more understanding for the same reason.

In any case, there's no excuse for verbal abuse. If I were you, I'd begin documenting what's going on in case this escalates and you wind up having to prove your side of the story.

Anybody who'd treat you the way these two men have isn't going to be trustworthy in the future.

you can go online and look up what the landlord/tenant laws are for your state or city. If you gave adequate notice about your situation you can show him & her the section in the code in regards about payment of rent. Good Luck and so sorry to hear that. We had a landlord who was a jerk too, but he messed w/ the wrong tenants. ;)

yeah his boss is a very manipulative person and he knows that we cant do anything about what hes done to us. We are retaliating by leaving without notice and cutting all contact with him. and our nieghbors just informed us that where we live our landlord technically has to wait 45 days after the rent is late before he can evict us. And im not mad at that so much as I am at how uneccisarily mean and disrespectful they were. they might be our landlords but we are still human beings and we deserve respect. this is just a very stressful situation that we should never have had to be in. Its really nice that I can come on here and vent and get so much support from people I dont even know. THANX!!!!!
