This is in response to Claira C about why they're called Ombre Cakes. Ombre is an effect kind of in art and fashion. See the way the color is darker on the bottom and fades out and changes as it goes up to the top of the cake? That's affect is called Ombre....where the colors bleed and blend like that from bottom to top.

It's an Ombre cake because of the color saturation gradually getting darker as it gets to the last layer. It's basically the same concept as the Ombre hairstyles that have been so popular this past year.
