I don't see how the Hudson River story is the front page feature on pretty much every American media company when this:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090115/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_israel_palestinians;_ylt=Ald0xgpAgzvNvZrAGiVZ0MR34T0D
is going on right now, too.

There are people at my school who say that reading the news is lame because "reading outside of school is lame. Oh, unless it's real news like People or Star tabloids."
I was just like, -_________________-.

You'd be surprised at how little some people know or care! In a class last week, some guys said that they didn't read the newspaper or anything because it was just always about people dying and it depressed them.
I'm very sorry you have to live in the real world for a moment boys, it must be so much worse for you than those lucky people being killed!

At least in England, most people realize there even *is* a war going on.
Here in America, everyone is so ignorant and completely oblivious to everything except what night Gossip Girl is on.

It was a pretty fantastic story. It's so ridiculously rare that ANY water landing is successful.
I think it's worse that in England, front page for ages was about Russell Brand making a prank call, which meant that a couple of English people being bombed in Iraq got bumped to page five.
