 Dotee Doll- Stephanie by Dorothy Christian

              So there I was laying in bed, perusing Etsy.com once again. As I often do when sleep eludes me. And I stumbled onto a most exciting creation, Dotee Dolls! These adorable little creatures are so creative and fun I was suprised I hadn't heard of them yet. I quickly did a search to find out more about them. So far I have learned that they are usually about 4-7 inches tall, they have a loop at the top so they can be hung up, and most often have some sort of tail. After that you can make it as unique as you can possibly imagine :) I kept digging and I also found that they all started with one very creative lady named Dorothy Christian, and are named after her "Dot". How sweet, huh! Dorothy of course has her own blogs, http://doteedolls.blogspot.com/ and http://dotslifeandart.blogspot.com/ . And has also been as kind as to post a How-to on You Tube at http://youtu.be/y_SlCwCYcsU

                  These little lovelies have really got my imagination creation station in high gear, which isnt exactly what I wanted at 3:11am, lol. But you never do know when inspiration will hit you :) I grabbed some scrap paper and started jotting down all sorts of ideas for making some myself. They first one I thought of was a cute sleepy time girl with a skirt full of stars and irridecent beads, stuffed full of lavender. I thought I might hang one like that from my head board above my pillow, maybe the smell would help relax me away to dream land ^_^ Of course I still have about ten other sketches and if I could figure out how to use my scanner in this half awake state I would upload them and show you! But I dont think that is ever going to happen, lol. So  here are some great ideas I found on the world wide web!

From what I've been seeing around the web, people are making and trading these just like ATC's (artist trading cards) I would love to get a Dotee Doll Swap (or a set of swaps) going here on CO+K! I know all of us tallented people would just make wonderfuly creative dolls <3

Please excuse me while I seriously Geek Out....

I can't believe how many amazing games are coming out this year! There are sooo many I was to try out. Lets talk about a few of the Major titles though :)

Numero Uno on my list...SKYRIM! Oh yeah the newest Elderscroll is finally coming out this year after what 5 years of waiting! But ohhhhh is it worth the wait! I have been following the news on it, and it looks ah-mazing! The graphics are the realist yet in any game, ever! And of course Bethesda it making it a rockin story line also! There are more enemies like Giants and Ice Wraiths, a larger map, even compared to Oblivions epic size, oh yeah and Dragons!!!! They only down side.... I have to wait allllll the way until November to get it :( They're going with the whole 11-11-11 deal. But I guess over all thats a good strategy, its easy to remember and right in the holiday season. I really want to pre-order for the Collectors Edition, but not until I know what comes in it ^_^

Ok here are a few also on my list

* Assasin's Creed- Revelations (november)

* BioShock Infinite (in 2012)

*Gears of War 3 (september)

*Alice Madness Returns - Just came out this week and I am loving it <3

Is anyone else this into games?

Let me know what your excited to see this year!

Hi Hi Everyone!

I have had about a wewk with my brand new sewing machine, and I am loving it!

I got a Brother LS-590. Its not the fanciest but it does everything I could ever need. I spent about $100.00, and it was about right in the middle of the price range of the ones that particular store carried.

My wonderful hubby decided to let me pick one out after listening to me curse all night struggling with my much older sewing machine. I was trying to make the Fleece Dino Hat Tutorial, and the machine was not wanting to cooperate at all. The one I was using was a Husqvarna Viking 6000 series and it was made in the 50's. I inherited the iron bohemoth from my grandmother two years ago when she passed. She had used it for years with out any problems. Just my luck it quit on me! I think what did it in was the move from Idaho to New York and then its long voyage from New York to Hawaii. Ever since then it hasn't worked propperly. I use my sewing machine all the time. It has a permanent home on my craft table, because there is just no use putting it away, lol. I use it too often. Like for sewing crafts, repairing my husbands army uniform and hemming all of my pants (I'm a shorty lol)

Now that I have my new one I have been sewing non stop! I've made a ton of projects like a teddy bear for my newest cousin, an heirloom stuffed elephant, two juice pouch coin purses, pin cushions, tea wallets AND I started a QUILT! I have never made a quilt in my life. Once I hepled my mom and grandmother make one, but I dont think they actually let me doing anything constuctive, lol. They just gave me busy work to keep me out of their way.

So I bought some fabric in hopes of making a quilt, and I checked out a book from the local library that had a easy quilt idea in it. Its called The Sew Everything Workshop by Diana Rupp, and the project is Get Patchy Quilt. Its actually a really helpful book. It even came with all the patterns for the projects. So I got started cutting out my large quilt squares (11x11 inch) from some fall colored fabrics. I like the more earthy colors. So far I have all my squares cut out and most sewn together in strips!

Here is a picture of the wonderful book                 These are the fabrics I picked for my quilt!                (you can get it cheep on amazon)

I hope to get some sewing done on the quilt this week. I just need to buy some fabric to boarder the blocks, batting and backing :) I'll keep taking pictures and then post again when its all done! Wish me luck!

Happy Crafting!
