The Very Naughty Caterpillar

Photobucket

I feel I have a moral obligation to little animals, obviously this one could stick up for itself.
It was on our garden path so I tried to put it onto a coaster so I could move it to the tree. I pushed it onto the coaster using the end of a paintbrush and everytime I poked it, it whipped round and bit my paintbrush!!! I had to tug the paintbrush out of it's mouth! When I got it onto the coaster it didn't appreciate my help at all and ran off the end and disappeared into the grass. Later I found it on the wall.
It is a Grey Dagger moth caterpillar, despite it being a bit of a punk I really liked the little bugger. It had 2 horns and it looked like it has 8 little faces on it's body! The pattern is really nice.

Speaking of patterns, come with me off to Mochimochi Land. Queen of Mochimochi land, Anna, has some fabulous patterns to buy and even has some free patterns.

Photobucket

I think the entrance to Mochimochi Land is under Mr.Grass, that's why he's hiding! Luckily there's the website for creatures without the proper paperwork.

I'd also like to draw your attention to Fusionman.

Local Haberdashery Appreciation

I love my local haberdashery so much! When you approach it you just think 'Cross stitch...knitting errm?..' but once you get within the deepest realms of ribbon and buttons the amount that that little place has is overwhelming.
It's an indoor market stall and items hang across the 'ceiling', there's wool, needles and hooks, fabric, there's baskets of sale items, there's beads, a rainbow of embroidery threads, I'd say almost a third of the back wall is buttons and little treasures are hiding amoung it all.
It's so cheap too, I got all this for under £6!

Photobucket

Now, our bead shop, that's another issue. Ok so it's part of a chain and it's got a lot of choice but it's hardly ever frikkin open! And when I do actually get to go in there I'll end up having to give a few fingers as part payment!
So just showing some appreciation for local businesses. I love that I am contributing to my local economy and to people that seem to be passionate about their shop and what it sells. I hope you have a haberdashery as good near you!

Knitty is Knutty%21

You must, must, must check out Knitty.com. I've been on there before but I have never seen such an awesome pattern as this!

Photobucket

You can make fingerless gloves with two doll head caps or gloves with the caps over the fingers so they'll all have friends and you'll be extra snug! You must know how to use charts to do this, it's very simple actually; each square represents a stitch. Once you learn to use charts you can do this with your own doll design.

I think they're so clever and funny! I wonder why we have certain craft 'icons' that feature on the things we make..russian dolls, mushrooms...

Craft Bug%21%21%21

Everyday brings more inspiration, more of a need to be crafty, my fingers itch and ache with cravings! Not only is the crafting fun but the planning is as well. I plan things I need to buy and do in my handmade notebook and I even mental knit! Seriously, sometimes my mind keeps knitting when my hands have finished! It helps me sleep. I think about applying craft to lots of aspects of life all the time, it's become a way of life! Credit Crunch!? Whatever! If this is still going on when I want to buy my own house I'll just make it!!

Hats and Boobies%21%21%21

Save The Children are appealing to everyone to take part in their Knit One, Save One campaign and knit hats for babies in less fortunate countries. There is a pattern availiable and information on where to send completed hats on their website.

Photobucket Photobucket

Similarly Bliss, a charity for premature babies are asking knitters to knit...yes...BOOBS! They are a cheap alternative to showing new mothers how to express milk etc. The pattern is availiable on their website.
