Come behind the scenes at Crafty Texas Girls for a #CraftRoomTour and see Samantha's craft room in Grapevine, Texas.

My favorite thing about my craft room is that although the room itself is white, the space feels colorful due to all the supplies. I love the color coordination in my fabric stash and ribbon collection. Just coming into the room makes me excited to craft!

Tell us about your space

The room itself is not large. It is attic space that was converted into a work-out room by the previous home owners. When we moved in, I had planned to use the room as a spare bedroom, but my craft supplies and my hobby needed a home. So this cozy niche is perfect for crafting! I do a lot of sewing, hot-glueing, bow-making, and Cricut projects in my craft room. My daughters love to come in here and work by my side.

What have you done to make your space cosy, beautiful or inspiring?

When I decided to make the space my official 'craft room', my husband painted the entire room white. We invested in Elfa storage for my fabric. And my husband built me a custom ribbon holder too. I love having all my supplies organized and easily accessible.

How do you keep organized?

I keep organized the 'old fashioned way'. Before I leave the room, I try to allow myself enough time to return all supplies back to where they go. Like I tell my girls, if you put everything back in its spot- things will stay neat.

Any tips & tricks for organising supplies?

I used to have tons of plastic bags from Hobby Lobby and craft stores. I would stuff them in closets or line them up on the floor. My break-through in organization came when I decided that was not an efficient way to work. Take time and invest money in shelves or baskets. It is easier to keep things organized when they have 'official spots'. Make sure you can easily see what is the baskets or label the shelves. It takes time to get it all set-up, but it will save you time in the future.

Which are your favourite possessions and are there any of your own creations on display?

My favorite supplies are my ribbon and my fabrics. I have a chicken wire inspiration board that I use to display ideas for future projects and creations that I am proud of.

How do you organise your inspiration and ideas?

This chicken wire inspiration board displays magazine clippings, fabric swatches and other items that I find interesting. I also use Pinterest to organize ideas for future projects. You can find my on Pinterest @craftytexasgirl.

Where do you look for inspiration?

I find inspiration in magazines, newspapers, catalogs, online, and in real life. Creativity can be found everywhere!

If you had three wishes, what would you do to make it the dream space?

Three wishes? I would love to have a large window in my room, more square footage, and a really big closet! But I am thankful to have my little crafting niche. I grew up crafting, but I never dreamed that I would have my own space to be creative in as an adult.
