Cook a rice pudding and mix a Burry Me In Smoke cocktail in #ABiteToEat with Sanctuaria Wild Tapas in St Louis.

How did you get started?

Per the owners, Gurpreet Padda and Ami Grimes:
On a trip to Peru, they had a meal in a monastery during a dreadful downpour and enjoyed a comforting meal in beautiful and serene surroundings and wanted to bring the "sanctuary concept" to the busy city.

Where are you located?

We are in the heart of the "Grove" neighborhood in Midtown, St. Louis, MO.

What are your specialities?

We serve latin-american shared plates. Our food combines the two cultures without focusing on just the spicy aspect of the latin culture.
Wicked Good Shrimp is a combination of Creole and Cuban flavors that are rich without being spicy.

What's your personal favorite thing on the menu?

That would be the Wicked Good Shrimp.

What's on the stereo?

Lots of different world music but mostly eclectic ambient sounds that contribute to the comfort of a "Sanctuary" in the city.

Where else should we visit in your area?

The Grove neighborhood has just about everything from dive bars to Nepalese food.

Do you host any special events?

We have patio dining and for private events, a Belgian Gazebo suitable for warm weather outdoor weddings. We also rent our dining room and bar for special events. Seats up to 70.

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?
