How would you describe your style?

Since starting Ginger Side of Life, I have realized that I own an obnoxious amount of stripes. In addition to loving stripes in every color combination and size, I love leather jackets. I love that they can add an edginess to your look. So if you held me to one phrase, I would say, preppy with an edge.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

My Kenna T cognac leather jacket. The leather is buttery soft and goes with everything.

Who are your style icons?

Blair Eadie from Atlantic Pacific and Audrey Hepburn, and both for very different reasons. I love Blair Eadie's fearlessness when trying out and consequently setting new trends, she is always pushing the envelop of fashion, and she is never afraid to wear something different but I also love Audrey Hepburn for her classic style and feminine silhouettes.

Do you have any favourite designers?

Hands down, Yoana Baraschi is my favorite designer. I was originally introduced to her designs at Anthropologie and I have since fallen in love with her delicate, lace dresses. I feel ultra feminine in her dresses and would own every single one of them if it was acceptable.

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes?

I love Anthropologie, Madewell, J Crew and eBay. I can literally spend hours hunting down my favorite designer item on eBay, hoping to find a deal!

Do you make or customise your outfits?

I am a huge believer in getting items tailored to fit your body. I am slightly disproportional when it comes to my hips to chest ratio, so typically I end up buying the bigger size and taking the items to the tailor, and I have never been disappointed.

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

Who cares if its in style, if you like it, wear it. I recently pulled out my denim mini skirt from high school and loved wearing it. Is it the most fashion forward? Probably not. Did I love it? Yes!

Which other fashion blogs do you love to read?

I love local (San Francisco) blogs, including, This Time Tomorrow, Gal Meets Glam, and Atlantic Pacific but I also love a few out of state blogs, including, Sequins and Stripes, and Kelly in the City.
