I got this recipe from Annie's eats website, I had never made or eaten these before, but I found them easy to make and consume!
-
1
Gather together your ingrediants as listed above.
This is what is needed for the Whoopie pies.
-
2
These are what is needed for the creamy filling.
-
3
Pre heat your oven to 375oc
or 190oc.
Get your heart template, I got mine from a Google search.
Line baking sheets with parchment paper and trace the heart design on the sheet.
-
4
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl..
Flour
Cocoa powder
Baking powder
salt
-
5
Cream butter (8 spoons) and sugar together.
Then add egg and half your vanilla pod (half)
-
6
Mix in food colouring, then add your dry ingredients and butter milk.
Beat really well to make sure it is completely combined.
-
7
Put mixture in piping bag and fill in the traced outline on your tray.
-
8
Cook for 7-9 minutes, mine took 7 minutes as I was using a fan assisted oven.
Leave them to cool completely.
-
9
In another bowl mix
Cream cheese
butter (5 spoons)
vanilla pod (half)
icing sugar
-
10
Pipe filling into the centre and attach another to it.
My mixture made 48 half's, so in total you should get around 24 Whoopie Pies
They are yummy, so enjoy with the one you love! :)
