I found a pattern on the web, but it turned out looking like a HUGE hat! So, I used what I had, and made one of my own. I had this cute yellow/pink/white yarn I wanted to use, and paired it with some very light pink that I also had. Please bear with me as I have never done a pattern for anything knitted, but I made this one up with what I had on hand.

This is the yarn that I used. The yarn was knit with two strands held together throughout. You can use any color, of course. I used a size 10 16" curcular needles. Cast on 66
rows 1-3, knit
row 4, K1, K2tog, YO, repeat all around. This will be the round for the drawstring.
rest of the rows are all knitted until piece reaches about ten inches.

Ok, now I did this weird. I folded the circular needles so that the first and last stitches were front to back, and used another needle to combine the stitches, two at a time, into one. Yes, I know, it was supposed to be a three-needle bind-off, but as I am so new to knitting, I got scared, and ended up with this; 33 stitches. Then I bound off from here. In any case, bind off whatecer way you want, just so that the end result is a flat straight bottom. You can bind off regularly, then just seam the bottom with yarn.

For those of you who know how to do the gauges, it turned out to be about ten inches across, and about eleven inches tall. This can be done in crochet, too; however, I would use the yarn doubled for that as well, for stability. I like how the varigated yarn turned out. Now, I just hope it is not too small for my granddaughter! lol
Well, if it is, she can always use it as a little purse, I guess. It was fun to make.
