Cinnimon is da winna mon!
Make cinnamon ornaments from scratch! Because these are made from only cinnamon and apple sauce, these will literally smell good forever.

I originally found this online while searching sensory play dough recipes. It explained simple shaped ornaments and I decided to use this project for the preschool I intern at. The theme I'm using this for is "reindeer day" hence the reindeer stamp, but really you can use whatever you'd like, make it unique!

I've checked other postings for this and none involved stamps so I thought I'd show you my twist on it. Enjoy!

    Step 2

Place a sheet of wax paper on the table. If you have a rolling pin hand roll out some dough. (I just used the table to make it flat) Place it on the wax paper.

Spray lightly with cooking spray. (I might of had a litttttle too much.)

Place in your background stamp. (mine was a foam-ish material stamp made for paint)Press down with your fingers, tapping it gently to make sure it gets imprinted nicely.

Gently remove the stamp. For mine it was best to lift it from one side to the other in a peeling kind of motion.

    Step 7

Take your drinking straw and poke it in. This will be the hole to add ribbon later. You may have to move the straw around in small circles because of the dough's consistency but keep trying at it 'til you've got a hole!

    Step 8

Write out a name with the letter stamps, press these in carefully and not to firmly, just enough for an imprint to come out clearly.

    Step 9

Remove the dough from outside of the circle cookie cutter.

    Step 10

Remove the circle cookie cutter. Let it sit like this and dry. Drying time varies depending on the thickness and moisture of your dough. Some recipes I've read say you can bake it like this to dry faster, but I just let mine dry for about 2 days.

    *Tip:
Turning it a couple times while drying reduces the drying time.

Once dry, tie a ribbon, put it in a nice little box to give to a friend, hang it on your tree, or even use as an air freshener in your room. Ta daaa!
